Knowing who writes the source isn’t important, as long as the information is correct.

Credentials and qualifications are always important, even if the information is right. Also, when citing information, if you know there is an author, it's ALWAYS important to include that author's name.

Say you're trying to look up symptoms and cures for influenza. A trusted source would be from a doctor or physician. If you find an article by a physician about influenza and how to treat it, you want to make sure there's a name to the author so you can include full credit in your works cited page.
