one of the major things they look for is weight  loss or weight gain,If there is any hopeless feelings, excessive crying, lack of concentration. if the appetite has grown or lessen. If one has been sleeping a lot or less than usual.  if there is isolation. or loos of interest of things more than usual.  and one is excessive sadness/crying
