Why do some children have more respiratory problems than others? What are some examples

Some children have hereditary illnesses that affect the respiratory system. Asthma, for example, can be passed on from the parents. However, other factors may have an impact on a child's respiratory system like the climate they live in. Dry air can get into the lungs and cause issues and so can wet humid climates. Even simple allergies can cause specific children to have more sensitive respiratory systems.
