Which denomination of islam associated with followers of abu bakr ?

Abu Bakr was the first member of Muhammad's (Islamic prophet) family.

The followers of Abu Bakr's thoughts and beliefs (muslim) are denominated Sunni.

There are two types of muslims the Sunni and the Shia:

The sunni believe that Mohammad didn't clearly choose or say who his successor was supposed to be, so his father-in-law was chosen, Abu Bakr.

The Shia, on the other hand, believe that Mohammad did chose a successor and it was supposed to be his cousin/son-in-law Ali ibn Abi.
