Is it fair to describe the U. S war with Mexico as a war of conquest?

Explanation:

The US war with Mexico can be described as a conquest, as there was extremefervor and greed for land. While some justified this through the idea of Manifest Destiny,the series of battles were gruesome and violent. Even some Americans believed thattaking land away from Mexicans was unconstitutional and detrimental to foreignrelations. The motive was clear- more slave states, plantations and farming, profiting offof lands, and rapid expansion to declare power. The American insensitivity can remindone of prior times with the conquests when we were under Spain’s rule.
