During the late 19th and early 20th century America became an industrial power. There was very little government regulation of industry during this period. These industrialist became rich through ruthless as well as unscrupulous business practices during 19th century. During this time, the US government put little regulation on industries. Their wealth were made at the expense of working class by the betrayal of the democracy and by the chickanery.
