What was one cause of sectional tension?

I don't know if this is a proper answer but the creation of the sectional tension was to satisfy the south and North in hopes to avoid civil war

so in other words was to prevent further conflict between the disagreeing sides.

Do you have more info about it ? i doubt this is the answer because i don't have all the information but if trouble was brewing in a clinic maybe it was an argument as to which clinic was better or smth of that nature
