We cannot say it is outrageous or inappropriate because it is the perception and vision of an anthropologist that is exposing his work. Is there any evidence of bias? Probably, but if the work tried to make a peculiar description of the inhabitants of America to capture the attention of scholars and readers, he had to do it in an unconventional way.
