The industrial revolution and nationalism contributed to the rise of imperialism because of the need for resources that european countries either didn't have enough of in their country or that they didn't have. nationalism also caused imperialism because of the increased want to be to their country. also, the industrial revolution brought new weapons to the europeans which caused them to be able to easily go through the jungles and deserts of africa, easily killing them with machine guns compared to the africans older weapons

The growth of the empire continued to increase their confidence.
