Secondly, to make a tessellation through equations, you mostly look at the number of vertex's in a tessellation.

If you identify patterns, you can easily tell what kind of tessellation it is.

For example, a 6.6.6 tessellation is a tessellation where three hexagons meet at the same vertex, and each  hexagon has 6 sides.

To name a tessellation, go around a vertex and write down how many sides each polygon has, in order ... like "3.12.12".
