The number of Burmese pythons in the Florida
Everglades has been increasing exponentially
since the 1970s when irresponsible pet owners
released them into the ecosystem. In 2019 it was
estimated that there were 200,000. In 2020 it
was estimated that there were 252,000.
a) Write an equation in the form y = a. b* to model the
population of Burmese Python in the Florida Everglades, where x
is the number of years since 1975. Round b to the nearest tenth.
b) Interpret the value of a for this model
