A rectangular swimming pool is twice as long as it is wide. A paved border is 4 feet wide along the two longer sides and one of the shorter sides, and 8 feet wide along the other shorter side. The border and the pool have a combined area of 2046 square feet.
Let x represent the length of the shorter side of the swimming pool. Write an equation in standard form for the combined area of the pool and border in terms of x.
