D: y + 1 = 3(x – 5)
    y= 3(x-5)-1
     y= 3x-15-1
     y= 3x-16

To check wich one have the line that passes though (-1,5) we put -1 as x and y as 5 so lets check
  C.   5= 3(-1)+8
         5= -3+8
         5= 5
D.     5= 3(-1)-16
        5= -3-16
        5= -19
