Carl (mc=35 kg) and diane (md=28 kg) are sitting on a wagon (mwagon = 22 kg) that starts at rest (carl and diane are fixed to the wagon, which pushes and pulls them along with the wagon). diane throws a ball (mball=1.5 kg) to carl. diane throws the ball so that it has a momentum of 34 kg m/s to the left, causing the wagon to move to the right at 0.4 m/s.
