Yes light can cause metal to warm up. It can cause metal to warm up because the infrared light was absorbed and the energy flows with the light and the x ray light was transmitted and the visible light was reflected if the light was transmitted or reflected the metal couldn't warm up because the energy flows with the light so yes the light that shines also matters because if the light wasn't absorbed like the infrared light then there will be no change in the metal.
