In what way is modern democracy a challenge to the divine right theory?

Modern democracy is a test to the Divine Right Theory since Modern vote based system depends on the possibility that the general population has the privilege to administer themselves. 
The divine right of rulers, divine right, or God's order is a political and religious convention of illustrious and political authenticity. It declares that a ruler is liable to no natural expert, determining the privilege to manage straightforwardly from the will of God.
