After railroads were built, goods could be transported faster and much more easily. Urbanization is when something becomes city-like, and that's exactly what railroads did. Because goods needed to be made in the first place, factories were built, and this provided more jobs for people. People moved more often since it was easier to do so and more job opportunities and railroads took over cities. In general, things got more polluted, new buildings were built, and so on.
