She worked as a visiting nurse and amid her work among common laborers who were foreigners and had come to the united states to work she met other ladies among these workers who experienced successive labor, premature deliveries and self-initiated premature births for absence of data on the most proficient method on how to handle an undesirable pregnancy. These experiences was the spark something in Sanger as she wanted to help these ladies but could not.
