escape, Pandora hastily closed the lid of the box and thus preserved that never-
failing comfort which helps humans to bear all misfortunes with courage and
strength
If the box contained riches, Epimetheus meant to take half for himself. Thus,
although he told Pandora to control her curiosity, Epimetheus turned out to be
quite as foolish and nearly as much at fault as she. So, whenever we blame
Pandora for what happened, we must not forget to blame Epimetheus equally.
